Cruisin’ on the Willamette

On the last day of the epic staycation that was HannahFestNorthWest, Andrew and I took a two hour cruise on the Willamette River. I had purchased a groupon for The Portland Spirit, so it was a cheap little excursion. I honestly wasn't too impressed by the food (my gumbo was basically just stew? with carrots? what?! DO YOU KNOW HOW GUMBO WORKS, CHEFMAN?) and the live music was a little bit disappointing (country music covers=whyyyyyyyy?). However, it was a absolutely beautiful day, and there were many lovely sights to see on the river.  It was really neat to see parts of the Willamette and Portland that I've never seen before.
pirate boats!
Apparently, paddle-boarding is a thing.
adorable little floating houses
a llama leading a bunch of goats around a golf course right on the river.
Before you get on the boat, you have to have a cheesy picture taken. I, of course, blinked right when she took the picture. (I should've just worn my sunglasses! Curses!) Towards the end of the cruise, the employees find you and offer to sell you the photo for $12. I chose not to buy it since I'm all blinky in the photo, but then some super-nice maybe-drunk older ladies bought the photo for us because they thought we were cute. Hooray for nice people!

Outfit: David Bowie

david bowie t-shirt: Gap, thrifted
black shorts: Forever 21
heart tights: H&M
shoes: Anarchic, ebay
detachable lace collar: ebay

Here's two somewhat rare sights: "hannah in shorts" and "hannah in a t-shirt". It seems like summer is already grinding to a halt here, though it feels like it just started. It's still sunny, but it's definitely feeling cooler out there. Before you know it, it's going to be raining every other day again. I'm kind of looking forward to layers, jackets, blankets, and hot drinks! I just wish I had more time to go camping and do summery activities. Sigh. I just finished my little vacation, and I'm already wanting to go on vacation again!

Outfit: lace on lace on lace

pink lace dress: Forever 21
lace peplum shirt: JcPenney
blue skirt: thrifted
druzy necklace: ebay
shoes: Report

I wore this last week during my vacation. It felt like the perfect outfit for a lovely and relaxing summer day free from responsibility. I'm totally in love with the long pink lace dress. Forever 21 had them on clearance supah cheap, so I got a purple one and a pink one! It's kind of hard to find things to wear with them, since they're completely see-through, but they're so comfy and flowy!

The Grand Lodge

For the first part of our little staycation, Andrew and I drove out to Forest Grove and stayed at The Grand Lodge for two nights. The Grand Lodge was a "Masonic and Eastern Star Home" back in the 1920s. Its now owned by McMenamins, the company I work for. It's has a hotel, frisbee golf course, two restaurants, two bars, a spa, and a soaking pool!
One thing I love about McMenamins' properties, is that there's art and paintings everywhere. Every wall, corner, nook, and cranny is painted or decorated with something.

Me and Andrew had a lovely time at the Grand Lodge. We both had our first massages ever, which was ahhhmazing. We ate lots of yummy food, drank some delicious cocktails, walked around a lot admiring the property, and relaxed as hard as possible. It was definitely a good way to start off my staycation!

I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm going on vacation! errr...a staycation! I have a week off work, so I'm filling it with lots of fun and chillaxing in the local area. Tomorrow, I'm off to Grand Lodge for a couple nights. After that I have some loose plans for a trip to the beach, a house party, a 3 hour Portland cruise, and some hangouts with some of my favorite people ever. I probably won't be around the interwebs much the next week, but I'll be taking lots of pictures of my adventures so I can show you guys all the wonderfulness later!

Camping at the Coast

Last weekend, Andrew, Zak, Faye, and myself headed to the coast for some camping and meteor-shower viewing. We went to the same lovely campsite we did last time, only the weather wasn't quite as nice this time. As in, nowhere near as nice. As in, rainy, foggy, and cold. Curse you and your finicky ways, Oregon Coast! We had planned the trip specifically around an annual meteor shower called the Perseids, but had no luck seeing them as the sky was completely cloudy. Oh well! We still managed to have a good time, despite the cold.
Yummy mint chocolate s'mores!

I know I'm finally an adult because I have extra money to buy all the silly little toys I've ever wanted. I love most of the collections that Kidrobot puts out, but I'm especially obsessed with Dunnys! They're the cute little bunny shaped creatures that I have way too many of. I love collecting Dunnys, because they're fun, unique, and well-made. They're all designed by different artists, like Tara Mcpherson, Aya Kakeda, or McBess.
See that top shelf? That's my super duper all-time favorites.
I get most of my toys on ebay and Missing Link, an amazing local store. The four characters on the right are "Peecols". Their heads, torsos, and legs are all removable so that you can build them in any combination you want!
Gloomybear! Cupcake android! Tokidoki! anddd some of Amanda Vissell's adorable Apocalypse series.
I picked up these awesome little space rangers at a local dollar store. Aren't they great?!
Cyberman baked you a cake!
